Thurman Lyle Shirley, 83, a resident of Tallahassee, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015. He was born June 16, 1932, in Meridian, Mississippi, to the late Brady M. Shirley, Sr. and the late Lela Gough Shirley. He was a retired diesel mechanic and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and going to the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his children, Tim Shirley, Lela Johnson and Lynn Johnson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, B.M. Shirley. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Merle Harris.
