Stephen W. Runyan, Jr., 79, of Tallahassee, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017. A son of the late Stephen W. Runyan, Sr. and the late Sylvia Lawrence Runyan, he was born on July 29, 1938, in Clearwater, Florida.

He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Grover Davis. He was a 1958 graduate of Leon High School, where he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He retired after 30 years with the Florida Department of Transportation as a Traffic Engineer in the Office of Traffic Operations. He loved to travel with his wife and grandkids, always was a planner, a comedian at heart and loved to tell jokes. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter and fisher. Steve was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and would have celebrated his 50 year anniversary with his loving wife in December.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Davis Runyan; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rachel Runyan and Brian Runyan; grandchildren, Gage Runyan and Riley Runyan; brother and sister-in-law, David and Judy Runyan; mother-in-law, Lillian McCullers Davis; faithful fur-babies, Bridgett and Izzie; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
