Stanley Davis “David” Hurst, Sr., 78, of Crawfordville, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family. A son of the late Delaney Hurst and Myrtle Robey Hurst Ratliff, he was born February 26, 1938, in Roanoke, Virginia. Also preceding him in death is a son-in-law, Wesley Huff. He was a veteran of the US Army, was a retired carpenter with the Leon County School Board, and was a faithful member at Oak City Assembly of God and later at Heritage Assembly of God. One of his biggest joys was his family. He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, T. Faye Hurst; children, Stanley “Sonny” Hurst, Jr. (wife, Sharon), Rev. Dewayne Hurst (wife, Kim), Stacy Hurst Green (husband, Wesley), Jo Ann Huff and Zylphia Meredith (husband, Jason); grandchildren, Ansley Hurst, Braxton Hurst, Michael Huff, Alex Huff (wife, Emily), Kaya Meredith, Madyson Meredith, James Green, Wesley Green, Jr., Tanner Green, Leaton Green, Sloan Green and Sadie Green; and great-grandchildren, Adam Huff and Ethan Huff.
