Ronnie Brooks Smith, 64, died after a brief illness on November 29, 2015. Ronnie was born February 18, 1951, and is a resident of Tallahassee, Florida. He graduated from Rickards High School in 1969. He served with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol, and had retired from the City of Tallahassee in July 2015, after 20 years of service. Also, he was a long time member of the Florida National Guard and served his country in the Desert Storm Campaign. He was a Master Mason and a current member of Marzuq Shrine Temple. Ronnie was a member of the old Southside Baptist Church that was located on Laura Lee Avenue. He is survived by his three sons, Joe (Rachel), Terry, and Shane (Nezbah); four brothers, Jerry (Linda), William L. (Toni), Bob (Marilee), and Randall Smith; one sister, Betty Smith; and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear friend, Jodie Britt, and his former wife of 33 years, Barbara G. Smith. Preceding him in death are his parents, Albert B. and Mae Smith; his twin brother, Terry Smith; and his sister, Dorothy Williamson.
