Roderick Cooper Sr. “Pop” was born on January 1, 1964, in Syracuse New York to Harry Cooper Jr. and Maggie Cooper. He was educated in the Syracuse City school system where he graduated from Corcoran High School and attended Suny Delhi College. Pop was known for being an avid track star throughout school. Pop worked for Syracuse Parks and Recreations as a recreational aide. He later became a correctional officer with Jamesville Correctional Facility in Syracuse, New York. He moved to Georgia in the late nineties and worked with troubled teens and disabled adults. Pop enjoyed music, sports, and hanging out with family and friends every chance he got. His favorite teams were Syracuse University basketball team and Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team.

He was proceeded in death by his father Harry Lee Cooper Jr. and leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother Maggie Cooper and two sisters Sherri Boea (Significant other Oro Tate) of Atlanta, GA and Stephanie (Gairreus) Williams of Jesup, GA. His five children Roderick Cooper Jr., Artie Cooper, Zakia Holmes, Nisa Cooper, and JaNya Cooper. Eight grandchildren Camron, Camia, Cevon, Ceasonne, Charmish, Rashawn, Terziah, Ramauri. He also leaves to cherish his memory three aunts and four uncles along with two great uncles (Johnny & Lonnie Kelly) and two great aunts (Mable King & Sarah Weatherspoon) a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
