Robert Welds Coggins (Bob), 82, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, after a brief illness. A Tallahassee native, he was born on August 19, 1939, to Welds H. Coggins and Pauline Newton Coggins.

He was a proud graduate of both Leon High School and Florida State University. A Certified Public Accountant, he worked for the Florida House of Representatives for over 30 years, primarily with the Transportation and Healthcare Committees. Bob was wholly dedicated to family, friends, church and community service. He loved a good story, Southern Food and celebrating simple pleasures with loved ones. Never one to bow to convention, he spoke his mind with conviction and kindness. Though he did not often leave his beloved state of Florida, he was an armchair traveler and enjoyed history and genealogy.

He is predeceased by his parents, Welds and Pauline Coggins, and his only sibling, James Bryan Coggins (Jimmy). Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Susan Margaret Gregory Coggins; daughters, Melissa Coggins Carter (husband, John), Kathy Coggins Syfrett (husband, Tom) and Martha Coggins (partner, Sherri Bishop); granddaughters, Shelbi Boyer, Kate Carter and Lindsey Syfrett; great-grandson, Tucker Dennis; and great-granddaughter, Kinsley Dennis.
