Richard “Dick” H. Goessinger Sr., 73, of Milford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. He was the devoted husband to Diane Kapral Goessinger. Son of the late Charles and Bertha Goessinger, he was born on July 19, 1937 in Bridgeport, CT.
Dick was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy, and was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 15. He retired in 2001 from a long career in the trucking industry. Dick was also a member of the Teamsters Union.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Diane, his six children, Gwyn Zetah and her husband Patrick Meitin from Idaho, Janet Dooner and her husband Edward from New Jersey, Catherine Simpson from Danbury, Rachel Brunetti-Amento and her husband Michael Amento from Fairfield, Richard Goessinger Jr. from Newtown and William Goessinger and his wife Amy from Bethel and eight grandchildren, Peter Fiacco, Jennifer Zetah, Edward, Nicole and John Dooner, Jennifer Goessinger, and Laura and Stephen Brunetti. In addition, Dick leaves his loving sister Linda Holm and her husband Peter from Milford and several nieces and nephews. Dick is predeceased by a sister, Phyllis.
