Richard earned a BFA and MA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and subsequently embarked on a lifelong career in advertising as a senior copywriter, creative supervisor and vice president at several leading global agencies. He specialized in two of his passions – automobiles and beer – which led to creative stints in Detroit, Melbourne, Australia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Richard, 76, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Affectionately known as “Opi” to his five grandkids, Richard is survived by his wife, Maria “Omi” Pirone; two sons, Scott and Kirk; a younger sister, Diana Warner; a younger brother, Bob Wingerson; and two stepdaughters, Deanna Trahan and Denise Carrier.
