Richard “Dick” Porter Elmendorf, age 76, of Lordship and Milford, beloved husband to Beverly Erickson Elmendorf, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on September 22, 1935 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Raymond and Agnes Porter Elmendorf. Dick attended the University of Maryland and was employed with Sikorsky Aircraft for over 35 years. He won many awards at area art shows and during his retirement, enjoyed teaching art at the Baldwin Center for many years.
In addition to his wife Beverly of 53 years, he is survived by his brother, Donald Elmendorf (Judy) of Monroe, his nephews, Donald Elmendorf (JoAnn) of Fairfield, Mark Elmendorf (Eileen) of Bedford, NH, his nieces, Susan Cunningham (Will) of Wolcott, Gail Guglielmoni (Allan) of Milford and Norma Graham (John) of Branford. Also he is survived by a sister-in-law, June Evitts of Stratford, extended family, Marilyn, Sandy, Alex, Ally, Elizabeth, Danny, Renea and Graham and many great nieces, nephews and friends.
