Raymond William Downs, 73, of Tallahassee, passed away on February 18, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital.
A son of the late James O. Downs and the late Anne M. Zink Downs Gorman, he was born on October 24, 1944, in Agington, Pennsylvania. Also preceding him in death are his step-father, Ray Gorman; stepson, Kenneth Courtney; and siblings, James Downs and Carol Heaton.
He spent his life as a musician/songwriter, having traveled and sang with Porter Wagner, Skeeter Davis and Dolly Parton. A very talented artist, he was able to draw and paint, including self portraits. He also worked for many years with Eastern Airlines as a Passenger Service Agent.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Theresa Sue Adams Downs; children, Troy Downs, Donald Downs and Ryan Downs; stepchildren, Dan Courtney and Darrin Courtney; step-grandchildren, Hayden Courtney and Cullen Courtney.
