Waterbury- Mr. Raymond J. Davis, 84, died Monday, June 21, at the Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth. He was the widower of Jane (McLean) Davis.

Mr. Davis was born September 5, 1925 in Waterbury son of the late Raymond L. and Agnes (Brennan) Davis.

Volunteer work was a very important part of Ray’s life, he spent countless hours volunteering for many local organizations, including twelve years at Meridian Manor were he was president of the Home Association, volunteering to work with the mentally handicapped citizens through the Knights of Columbus and was awarded Donor of the Year in 2004 from the Help Hospitalized Veterans USA.

He is survived by four sons, Mark E. Davis of Rocky Hill, Raymond M. Davis of Waterbury, Edward M. Davis of Harwinton and Michael R. Davis of Waterbury; three sisters, Irene Zappone of Watertown, Nancy Mordenti of Venice, FL and Rosemary DeLucia of Waterbury; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and William Davis and one sister Pat Tata.
