Mr. Raymond F. Doran, Sr, age 76, beloved husband of Beverly Amedy Doran, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Milford Hospital. Born on March 4, 1934 in Bridgeport to the late Harold Doran SR and the late Margaret Curry Doran, he was a graduate of Southern CT Teachers College and attended Fairfield University for his masters. He served with pride and honor in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Raymond was a special education teacher at Harding High School in Bridgeport for 36 years and coached their baseball, football and basketball teams. He bowled in the Saint Mary’s Bowling League and played trumpet for the Connecticut Hurricanes. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Yankees, the Giants and Penn State University Football and loved animals.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, survivors include his children, Raymond Doran, Jr and his wife Nancy, Gregory Doran, Sheila Viscount and her husband Joseph F. and Kathleen Kochiss, ten loving grandchildren Natalie, Ashley, Bryan, Jared, Geoffrey, Joseph R., Victoria, Amanda, Christian and Taylor Nicole and one cherished great granddaughter Angelina all of Milford, his brother Harold and his wife Jean of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. Raymond also is survived by his devoted dog, Molly.
