Preston Thomas Collins, 75, of Tallahassee, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, while surrounded by his family.
A son of the late Joseph Preston and Grace Lewis Collins, he was born in Thomasville, Georgia on August 14, 1942. With honor and courage, he faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps, receiving a Good Conduct Medal on February 6, 1964. He later owned and operated a commercial lighting company. Golfing, hunting, playing softball and camping were hobbies he enjoyed doing.
He is survived by his wife, Ione DelCastilho Collins; daughters, Jennifer Munroe (husband, Derek), Laura Patronis and Shannon Huffman (husband, Ben); grandchildren, Shelby Murphy (fiancé, Nicholas Graganella), Savannah Munroe, Logan Murphy, Dalton Munroe, Heather Huffman and Tanner Patronis; great-grandson, Cohen Gastley; siblings, Walter Collins (wife, Donna) and Paul Collins (wife, Linda); nieces and nephews, Michelle Stevens, Bruce Collins, Terri Flournoy, Cara Glazar and Ryan Collins. Also surviving are numerous cousins and friends.
