Mavern Buddy Curlee, 81, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2017.

A son of the late Ernest and Lovie Whitfield Curlee, he was born on February 17, 1936, in Altha, Florida. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and later retired from Greyhound as a bus driver. Following his retirement from Greyhound, he became a local barber for over 20 years, and received the honor of Best Barber in Tallahassee. For over 30 years he had a garden at FAMU and loved fishing and doing fish fries at Lake Talquin’s Coe Landing.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Holland Curlee; daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Castellari; grandchildren, Sterling Phillips, Peyton Castellari, Reagan Castellari and Nia Curlee; sister, Myrtice Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
