Surrounded by his loving family, Louis P. Kellenberger, Jr., 78, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 after battling cancer for more than two years. The son of the late Louis P. Kellenberger, Sr., and the late Helen Holmes Kellenberger, he was born October 28, 1937, in Charleston, West Virginia. He retired from work as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in 2010. He was also advisor to employees of the City of Tallahassee for retirement planning. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent; was a former board member of the Friends of St. Marks Wildlife Refuge, former board member of the Friends of Maclay Gardens and a current board member and lifetime member of the Florida Wildlife Federation. He was a longtime member of Northside Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He attended West Virginia University and served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Northampton-CLC-1 from 1956-58 where he visited many Atlantic ports of call from Denmark to Brazil. Lou and Betsy lived in Dothan, AL for 26 years before moving to Tallahassee in 1988 after their youngest child went to college. Lou loved digital photography and could be found in the field at St. Marks NWR, Maclay Gardens State Park or Wakulla Springs State Park many days capturing the beauty of nature around him. He also loved to travel to Maine in summer, the mountains of North Carolina in fall and south Florida in winter for other photo opportunities. He enjoyed sharing his expertise with other photographers who sought him out for information about taking better photos. Lou was generous with his work which can be found in numerous brochures, newsletters, newspapers, magazines and websites. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” Kellenberger; children, Catherine Smith (Randy), Louis P. Kellenberger III (Melinda), David Kellenberger (Mary Sue), Brian Kellenberger (Cinnamon); grandchildren, Brandy, Louis P. IV, Nicholas, Joshua, Tara, Cannella, Jessica, Samantha and Corey; great-grandchildren, Amrie, Julian, Mikey, Shawnie, Louis P. V, and Caleb; and sister, Barbara Scites (Jack). Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
