Mr. Llewellyn B. Terry, age 103, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Marilyn Fraser Terry, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Milford Health Care Center, Milford.
Son of the late John Franklin and Rhoda Crane Terry, he was born on April 14, 1906 in Greenport, Long Island, NY and was a resident of Milford for over 60 years. He graduated from the University of Darmouth in 1928 with a degree in Portal Science and then enlisted and was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary during WW II, searching for enemy submarines along the East Coast and was known as the “Hooligan”. Mr. Terry was employed with the former Lomas & Nettleton, an investment company, in New Haven, then as a sales representative for Professional Equipment of new Haven. He also sold real estate for many years and finally retired from Pratt & Whitney in 1965. He enjoyed music, sailing, and skiing.
Survivors include four devoted children, Kristen Hoxie and her husband Robert of Milford, Alan F. Terry and his wife Patricia of Stratford, John H. Terry of Littleton, MA, and Jack Terry and his wife Peggy of Fairfield. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Zachary and Liam Terry and Hunter and Lila Hoxie. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Bullard.
