Lincoln McClelland, age 92, passed away on January 22, 2018. He was born to John McClelland and Cornelia Boggs McClelland on September 30, 1925, in Lafayette, Georgia. He is preceded by his parents; his wife, Annie Easley McClelland; two brothers, John and Booker; and six sisters, Zula, Louise, Sarah, Katie, Opal, and Josephine. Lincoln was born in Lafayette, Georgia at home. He was the youngest child in a family of nine children. He left high school in 1944 to join the Navy. After serving in World War II, he attended Morristown and Lane Colleges in Tennessee. He decided to move to Detroit, Michigan and then to Cleveland, Ohio. In the 1950’s, he became a member of the Tau Sigma chapter of Phalanx fraternity with the Cleveland YMCA and continued to keep in contact with members. This is where he met Annie Easley McClelland and they were married in 1964. They were married for 21 years until her death. Lincoln retired from Midland Steel Company in Cleveland, Ohio after over 30 years. Mr. McClelland leaves to cherish his memories and legacy his four children, John David McClelland of Detroit, Michigan, Lisa McClelland of Tallahassee, Florida, Monica McClelland and Michael McClelland both of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Nicole C. Bowens, John D. Bowens, Jordan Godfrey, Joshua Godfrey, Kayelin Johnson and Zion McClelland; and six great-grandchildren.
