Lewis Edward Chambliss, 76, of Havana, Florida, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare.
Born in Malone, Florida on February 2, 1945, he was a son of Joel Zack Chambliss and Sylvia Ellen Sims Chambliss, of blessed memory. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Chambliss Allen; and siblings, Joe Will Chambliss, Willie Tom Martin, Madie Green Chambliss Counts and Dorothy Chambliss Neeley.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ida Sue Phillips Johnson Chambliss; children, Richard Lewis Chambliss, Philip Benton (wife, Kristen) and Jeffery Benton (wife, Ashley); grandchildren, Michael Chambliss, Tiffany Chambliss, Lacey Chambliss, Sylvia Allen, Sharee Allen, Andrew Benton (wife, Christine), Connor Benton, Hunter Benton, Holden Benton and Chloe Benton; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Frankie Lee Chambliss (wife, Margie), David Chambliss and Hayward Chambliss. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
For over forty years, he owned and operated his own brick mason company, with twenty of those years in the Tallahassee area. He was also faithful member at Seminole Baptist Church.
