Joseph Harold Miller Jr. August 10, 1931 to June 19, 2020.
On June 19th Joseph Harold Miller Jr. passed away peacefully after fighting a battle with cancer.
Born in Chicago in 1931, Joe was a jack of all trades but especially liked working with cars. After stints as a printer and gas station owner, Joe settled into the auto body repair profession. He especially liked old cars and spent some time restoring a beautiful 1939 Cadillac Coup. Joe also spent time in the US Marines. He was fortunate that by the time he made it overseas, the Korean War ended.
In the late 1950s, Joe met Barbara Bergmark at his brother’s wedding. Both were immediately smitten and were wed shortly after (yes, two sisters married two brothers). Joe was a happy and even-tempered kind of guy which created the right mix for a happy 60+ year marriage to Barb. Joe’s devotion to Barb remained steadfast right up to his last days when he dutifully cared for her until he was physically unable. Two children followed (Bill in 1962 and Evie in 1965). Joe was a devoted father spending plenty of time with his children at baseball and softball games, music lessons,, etc. Joe was a devoted grandfather to six; Will, Tim, Mark and Emily Antonetti and Joe and Stephanie Miller. He was a loving brother to Don Miller and Norman Miller (preceded in death), and loving brother in law and uncle to many.
Joe enjoyed painting, making models, western movies, and music like Glenn Miller from the 1940s. Joe was an all-around good guy and will be sorely missed. Joe will take his rest at the Abraham Lincoln cemetery.
