Joseph H. Crutchfield, 89, of Medart, Florida, passed away in his home on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was born in Bonifay, Florida on March 16, 1927, to Huey and Bonnie V. Crutchfield.
Joe worked as a heavy equipment operator for the State of Florida for 30 years. After retiring from the State, he found his true calling working for the Leon and Wakulla County Sheriff Offices. Joe really enjoyed his years with law enforcement, and felt it was in this capacity that he was able to touch the lives of many in a positive way. Joe was a member of the Panacea First Baptist Church; he enjoyed fishing, gardening, his time volunteering with the Sheriff’s Posse and spending time with his many friends and loved ones. Joe never met a stranger, and could cut-a-rug with the best of them.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Belle Crutchfield, his son, Danny J. Crutchfield, daughter-in-law, Lisa A. Crutchfield, brother, TJ Crutchfield, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his bothers, Eldon and Dewey, and his sister Flossie Huggins.
