Joseph Allen Parmer, 66, of Tallahassee, passed away into the loving arms of God, on Monday, May 15, 2017.
A son of the late Charles A. Parmer and Marion Dixon Parmer, who survives, he was born January 22, 1951, in Greenville, Alabama. A sister, Janice Parmer Edwards, also preceded him in death.
He served in the Florida National Guard, and along with his wife, was a member at Lake Bradford Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and participated in the Mac Paper Golf Tournaments. He was also active in the Abate Motorcycle Group, but his biggest passions were the Patriot Guard, where he served as a Ride Captain for many years, and also participated in Civil War Reenactments, representing Kilcrease and First Florida Light Artillery.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine Montford Parmer; children, Jennifer Keller, Janice Parmer (Roy) James and Clinton Joseph Parmer; grandchildren, Addison, John-Parmer and Eli; siblings, Wayne (Margaret) Parmer and Edie (Charles) Harrison. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
