John was born August 18, 1945 in Waterbury, son of the late John and Loretta (Barnell) Russ.
Besides his wife, Geri, John is survived by his two daughters, Kristen Pikula and her husband, Joseph, of Burlington, and Nicole Russ and her husband, Tom Messer, of Griffin, Georgia; two brothers, Timothy Russ, of Torrington, and Robert Russ, of Pensacola, Florida, and one sister; Beverly Michalowski and her husband, Al, of Torrington. He was predeceased by one sister, Loretta Beringer.
