John R. Leidel, 77, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed into the loving arms of God on Saturday, October 7, 2017, with his family by his side. A son of the late Lawrence and Thelma Vaa Leidel, he was born on July 25, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served his country in the United States Army and had retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a Special Agent and Investigator. He and his wife, Nancy, made Tallahassee their home in 1979. He enjoyed coaching, listening to music and watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; and children, Lynn Leidel, Laura Leidel (husband, Jonathan Hill) and Brian Leidel (wife, Alysha); granddaughter, Sloan Leidel; as well as brothers, Mark Leidel (wife, Lynn) and Tom Leidel (wife, Bev) and many nephews and nieces. He will also be missed by his longtime caretaker, Phyllis Johnson.
