John P. Aitkenhead, age 60, longtime resident of Milford and beloved husband to Diana Horko Aitkenhead, passed away on Friday February 10, 2012 at home after a long illness. Born in Queens, NY on September 5, 1951, he was the son of the late John and Rita McMahon Aitkenhead. John was a manager for Watson Foods Inc. of West Haven. He was the President of “Milford Operation Mainstream”, which is the local chapter of the Special Olympics. John was also a member of the Milford Jaycees and St.
In addition to his wife Diana (Donna) of 38 years, he is survived by three sons; Thomas Aitkenhead and his wife Kate of Hamden, Michael Aitkenhead and his wife Carrie of Westport, and James Aitkenhead of Milford. Also his beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Cora, Sarah and Lauren. John is also survived by his Aunt Marie McMahon of Jamaica Estates, NY as well as two nephews and a niece Ernie, David and Allison Miller. He is also survived by his cousins Pamela (his other sister) and Chuck Lancellotti, Richard Sperry, Ellen and Donald Kropp, and Jean and Jon Scott. John is predeceased his sister Kathleen and her husband Ernie Miller.
