James Patrick Kilbane, adored husband and sweetheart to Susan Spiccia, was born September 24, 1926, and passed away August 6, 2016. Bud, as his family called him, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Clara and James Kilbane, Sr., as the third of five children: Rita Bruening (deceased), Pat Hovanic (Sis), Bud, Chuck (deceased) and Tom (Joyce).
His pals called him Lefty. Lefty attended St. Patrick School and West Tech High in Cleveland. He enlisted in the US Navy after high school during World War II, and then attended and graduated from University of Dayton.
Jimmy, as he was known to co-workers, began working for the Cleveland Municipal Court in the early 50’s. He became personal bailiff to Judge Edward Feighan in the early 70’s, and later personnel director for the Court until his retirement in 1988.
His kids, Colin (Patty), Brian (Stacy), Trish (deceased), Andrew “AJ”, and John, called him Dad. He was stepfather to Rob (Dawn). Eleven kids called him Grandpa: Beth, Katie, Tina, Amy, Savannah, Kelsey, Sean, Lexie, McKenna, Eric and Emily. Four babies would have called him Great-Grandpa if they could talk, Carter, Cameron, Skye and Hunter.
