James Loren Palmer, 79, of Tallahassee, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017. The son of the late Roderick W. and Iris O’Lene Ross Palmer, he was born October 27, 1937, in Thomasville, Georgia. With honor and courage, he served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed by the United States Postal Service and was also an entrepreneur. He enjoyed singing, playing the harmonica, old hymns, international travel, taking walks and talking. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy McKinnie Palmer; children, Brandi Palmer Carden (husband, Travis) and Roderick Palmer (wife, Yuka); eight grandchildren; twin sister, Joy Harvey; and a nephew, Rick Gourdier.
