After a valiant battle, James L. Walker, 72, of Tallahassee, peacefully entered the loving arms of Jesus on November 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 14, 1943, in Opp, Alabama, to the now late Alto Turvin and Vera Lee Williams Walker. He was an on the road truck driver, and was proud of his service in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Eugene A. Greene, DD 711. He was a member of Woodville Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and automotive mechanics. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jill Keffaber Walker; children, James. G. (Janet) Walker and Daniel K.B. Walker; grandchildren, Michael E. Smith, James G. Walker, Jr., Danielle M. Walker and Dallas C. Walker; great-grandchildren, Journey A. Walker, Payton J. Walker and Sheila Walker; and his siblings, Rex Walker, Regina Sitzer, Becky Scott, and Myrinez Walker Sasser. Family members preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Sheila D. Smith; siblings, Kathleen Matlock, Charles Turvin and Leonce Turvin; and a stepson, Christopher Scott Walker.
