James Louie Brogdon, 86, of Crawfordville, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was born February 22, 1931, in Decatur, Georgia, to the late Louie and Audrey Brogdon. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Culbreath. Together they shared a love and friendship that spanned the better part of six decades.

From March of 1971 until August 1995, he was the owner and operator of James Brogdon Builders. Many of the Brogdon men spent the summers of their youth working along side of him building homes in the Tallahassee area.

James was a passionate man of God and was a member of Ivan Assembly of God Church in Crawfordville.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Jim (wife, Emma Lou); daughter, Tammie (husband, Rich); step-daughter, Pam (Danny); grandsons, Jamie (wife, Leanne), Justin, Robbie; granddaughter, Stephanie; brothers, C.L. “Red” (wife, Marie) and Thomas; sister, Thelma; caregiver, Kamona Hayes; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl and Charles; and sisters, Doris, Gladys and Lucille.
