Mr. James “Jimmy” Pearson Alsobrook, Sr., age 85, of Lanett passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Mr. Alsobrook was born in Cusseta, Alabama on December 17, 1930 to the late Otis DeWitt Alsobrook and Sarah Katherine Pearson Alsobrook.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Reeves Alsobrook; sons, James Pearson Alsobrook, Jr., John Robert (Leigh) Alsobrook; grandchildren, Ben, Jacob, Sarah Kate, Luke, Noah, and Leeanne Alsobrook; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jane Dozier, DeWitt Alsobrook, Sue Pearson Alsobrook, and John Alsobrook.
Mr. Alsobrook was a graduate of Auburn University. He was a lifelong educator who served in many different capacities during his career. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Lanett and an active supporter and volunteer in many community affairs.
