Houston L. Ham, Sr., 82, a resident of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015. The son of the now late William Grady Ham and Minnie Taylor Ham, he was born October 11, 1932 in Cottondale, Florida.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a retired statistician. He, along with his late wife, Lydia Jeanelle Ham, was a faithful member at Fellowship Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling. He especially enjoyed all of the camping excursions he and Jeanelle made with the Fellowship Baptist camping group. He was a very kind-hearted man and was always willing to help in any way that he could. Even though the last few years were challenging for him, he remained joyous. He loved sitting in the backyard singing hymns and reading his Bible.
He was a faithful husband, a good daddy and a loving papa. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Ham; son, Houston L. “Hugh” Ham, Jr., and his wife Kristi; grandchildren, William Kyle Ham and Hannah Ham. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Mae Ham and Eloise Virginia Russell.
