Gary Alan Lyda, 64, of Tallahassee, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Born in Germany on March 18, 1955, he was a son of the late Hoyle Hampton Lyda and the late Reditha Petty Lyda. He proudly served his country in the United Army between 1972 and 1978. Later he became an electrician, and more recently went to work at Killearn Lakes Elementary School in the maintenance department. A talented guitar player, he played in several local bands, most recently Southern Latitude. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Law Lyda; children, Jennifer Womble (husband, Richard) and Lori Andrews; grandchildren, Emily Womble, Ryan Womble and Kenneth Andrews; and brothers, Ronald Lyda and Hoyle Lyda.
