Freddie “Butch” L. Smith was born on April 9, 1950 to the late Arthur Smith and Mamie L. Johnson Smith. He received his education at Wayne County Training School. He was joined in Holy Matrimony on April 12, 2012 to Rebacca I. Coney. His work experience consisted of logging and from there he moved on to road construction, which he retired from in 2009.
Butch passed away on September 1,2022 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Georgia after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Otha Smith and Elijah Jones, 1 sister, Emma Lois Merritt, and 1 son, Freddie Smith, Jr.
