Franklin G. Jones, Jr., age 91, of Milford, beloved husband of 68 years to the late Tatiana Kwoka Jones passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011. Born on September 16, 1919 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Franklin, Sr. and Georgiana Walker Jones.
Franklin retired from Bridgeport Machines as a Plant Manager, served in WWII aboard the naval carrier Chara in the Pacific and was instrumental in forming the Sylvan Crest Legion Post #177 in Bridgeport, serving as its first commander, a post he held numerous times.
Franklin is survived by his children Cynthia Tomaszewicz of East Montpelier, VT and Tatiana Murphy of Milford; daughter-in-law Eileen Jones of Milford; nine grandchildren Sherri (Glenn) Hottin of Oxford, Brian (Wendy) Stevens of Milford, Kim (Frank) Geer of Milford, Franklin G. (Kerry) Of Pt.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Arden House in Hamden and the doctors and nurses at Saint Raphael’s Hospital for their compassion and dedicated care.
