Francis Patrick (Pat) Comiskey age 88 years old passed away with his children by his side at Cannon Hospice Saturday May 22, 2010. A resident of Metairie since Hurricane Katrina but a lifetime resident of New Orleans, Mr. Comiskey is the son of the late Patrick James Comiskey and Hazel Slemmer Comiskey. Beloved husband of the late Edna Mae Clasen Comiskey for 45 years and is survived by his loving children Glenda P Drake, Patricia Bourgeois, and Francis Patrick Comiskey Jr ., sister Mary Lorraine Comiskey and companion to Ann DeLarosa of Metairie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren along with many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Jane Sens and brother Stephen Ralph (Brother) Comiskey. Mr. Comiskey was a World War II Veteran serving in the U S Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946 aboard the USS El Paso (PF-41) participating in many campaigns in the Pacific and North Atlantic. A graduate of Holy Cross High School and Sacred Heart Grammar School, Mr. Comiskey was employed by James E. Comiskey Wholesale Liquor Company until 1974. He then joined F Strauss & Sons which later became Glazer Wholesale from which he retired in 1998. A proud member of the “Who Dat Nation”. Mr. Comiskey enjoyed all sports and was a long time Saints season ticket holder. He was also a member of St. Anthony of Padua’s Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 175, Voiture Nationale and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
