Floyd was born to the late Rev. Gaston and Bessie Ray Barrett in Carthage, NC.
He is survived by: his wife, Della Barrett, of the home; two daughters, Debra Jackson (Richard), and Freda Newby (Ralph), Sanford, NC; one foster son, Calvin McLucas; five grandchildren, Kisha Barrett, Natasha Barrett, Reginald Newby, Spencer Edwards and Angel Edwards; seven great grandchildren, Khalil Barrett, Jy’lan Barrett, Elyah Barrett, Amaria Newby, Isaiah Marlin, Aniya Newby, and Willie Horn, Jr., all of Sanford, NC; one sister, Katherine Barrett, Carthage, NC; a god daughter, Theresa Fox, Sanford, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
