Mr. Ferris Bridges “Sonny” Hardee died peacefully in Tallahassee, FL on April 6, 2021 at the age of 78 at the Margaret Dozier Hospice House. Sonny was born on August 16, 1942 in Albany, GA to Ferris Bridges “Doc” Hardee Sr. and Grace Hardee.
He graduated from Albany High School in 1960. He joined the United States Navy in 1961 and served until 1965 on the USS. Ault as a Second Class Petty Officer and served in the Military Police. Sonny began working for Woodford Plywood, Inc. in 1975 and moved to Tallahassee in 1980 to open a branch office. He married Margaret L. Hardee, in 1995. He is preceded in death by his parents Ferris Bridges “Doc” Hardee Sr. and Grace Hardee of Lanark Village, FL and his first wife Rita S. Hardee who passed away in 1992.
Sonny is survived by his wife Margaret Hardee, of Tallahassee, FL; son Christopher Hardee (Regina) of Orlando, FL and grandchildren Thomas, Kaitlyn, and Emily. He is also survived by step-sons, Shane (Felicia) and Jeffrey (Jessica) Rivenbark. Sonny was known as “Grandpa Sonny” to Dustin, Lance, Rebecca, Haylee, Savanna, Avery and Logan Rivenbark as well as 5 great grandchildren. Sonny was a good man who was dedicated to his family, fun-loving with a dry sense of humor. He was a care taker for many. Among his many interests was wood working and he made some beautiful things.
