Evon Cole “Ed” Edwards, 81, of Havana, Florida died at home Sunday, August 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dickenson County, Virginia on February 15, 1940, to Ora and Ida Fuller Edwards, of blessed memory. Mr. Edwards had lived in the Havana area for 40 plus years. He retired from Florida Highway Patrol as a State Trooper after 36 years of service.

After his retirement, he served as a security guard for the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. He was a gentleman who was always busy, enjoying yard work, especially cutting grass and family activities. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Vera Leanore Edwards Miller, Macel Edwards Bartley, Jimmy Edwards and Jeanette Edwards Tiller. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Ferrell Edwards; daughters, Karen Edwards and Brenda Herring (husband, Tad); grandchildren, Mathew Herring and Damon Herring; great-grandchildren, Bella Herring and Damon Herring.
