Euzema “Smitty” Smith, Jr., 91, of Tavares, formerly of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away Friday, April 1, 2016. A son of the late Euzema Smith, Sr. and Lois Hay Smith, he was born October 23, 1924, in Jakin, Georgia.
He is also preceded in death by brothers, David and Emory. He served in the US Navy and was a 50 year Mason and Shriner. He is survived by his wife, Deryl Smith; children, Tracy E. Smith (Becky), Barbara Mayer (Phil) and Tara Morgan Alford; grandchildren, Nathan Smith and Peyton Smith; and sisters, Jenny Miller, Eloise Summers and Lois Ann Averitt. Visitation is Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, at Abbey Funeral Home.
