Thomaston- Mr. Edmund J. “Junior” Smart, Jr., 79, died Wednesday, April 27, at the Cheshire House in Waterbury after a brief illness. He was the husband of Joann Smart.
Mr. Smart was born June 14, 1931 in Waterbury son of the late Edmond and Rella (Pelliter) Smart, Sr. He had been employed for 47 years at the Waterbury Companies and worked part time for 5 years at Durable Radiator. He had served honorably in the United Sates Army and the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW Oakville Post #7330, was an avid NASCAR fan and loved cars.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Dawn Breen and her husband John and Kim Everett and her husband Sam; two sons, Edmond Smart III and his wife Wendy and Douglas Smart; two sisters, Doris Sargeleski and Beatrice Ricard; two brothers, Norman Smart and Harold Smart; grandchildren, Jason Breen, Edmond Smart IV, Samuel Everett and Katelyn Everett and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Walter and Diann Wadinger. He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Deziel.
