Donald R. Henderson, 97, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away at home, March 13, 2017, in the tender care of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Don will be greatly missed for his kindness and gentleness by all who knew him. A son of the late Lewis and Florence Snyder Henderson, he was born March 7, 1920, in Elmira, New York. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Antonette D. Jacobson, son, Neil F. Padgham and sister, Marie Nurse. Don retired from automotive sales and honorably served in both the Army and Air Force. While in the military, he played in the Air Force Band. He also played drums with the Johnny Desmond Band. Don was an avid NASCAR fan, as well as being both a hidden founder and one of the first crew members. He was a parishioner at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and a Mass will be offered Friday, March 24, 2017, at 6 p.m, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Don is survived by his wife, Dawn Padgham Henderson; children, Thomas E. Henderson (Patty), Stephen J. Padgham (fiancée Aminta Arias), Diane P. Brown (Dick), Christine P. Conrad (Clyde), Marianne P. Johnson (Butch), Elizabeth Padgham (James Willis), Robert L. Padgham (Karen) and Joseph M. Padgham (Kristin Sokoloski); son-in-law, Glenn Jacobson; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
