Donald DiBianco, beloved husband of Barbara Louise Riggott DiBianco of West Haven, passed away peacefully at The Connecticut Hospice February 17, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born February 24, 1931, the son of the late Dominic and Anne (DeMezzo) DiBianco. Donald lived a great life, he was loved by all he came into contact with and touched so many lives. From his times owning Dawson Ave. Market, owning Captains Galley, or Dibs, Mr. Dib has made his mark. So many remember him down at Bennett Rink in West Haven as the President of the Penalty Box Club, as coach of Curlys Allstars street hockey team, and an active member of the youth hockey association. Others remember him out on the boat down at City Point Yacht Club. Regardless of how you remember Don, he was a great man and will be missed by all those whose lives he was a part of. Aside from his wife Donald leaves behind his sister Eleanor DiBianco DeCrosta as well as four wonderful children, Michael DiBianco of West Haven, Maryellen DiBianco Launder of West Haven who is employed by the West Haven Board of Education (Son in law the late Frank “Skip” Launder), Donald R. DiBianco (wife Lori) of East Haven who is also a local West Haven Fire Fighter, and Robert W. Linn retired state bail commissioner. He also leaves four beautiful grandchildren, Casey Launder of West Haven, Danielle DiBianco of East Haven, DJ DiBianco of East Haven, and Nicholas DiBianco of East Haven.
