Mr. Donald E. Knowlton, Sr. age 88, a Milford resident for 70 years, beloved husband of the late Joan Murphy Knowlton died suddenly Monday, June 20, 2011. Born on December 23, 1922 in Windham, CT, he was the son of the late Ernest E. and Alice Van Ness Knowlton.
Donald proudly served in the United States Army during WWII in France, Germany and Belgium and was part of the D-Day Campaign in Normandy. Donald worked as a Construction Superintendent for Dwight Building Company and retired from Morganti Construction Company.
Donald is survived by his loving children Donald E. Knowlton, Jr. and his wife Mary of Fenton, MI, Nancy Kulenski and her husband Terry of Oxford, two cherished grandchildren Adam Kulenski of Milford and Kate Kulenski of Oxford, two nieces Susan Wood of Salisbury, Cynthia Tripp of Milford and a nephew Donald Summers of Northford. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard E. Knowlton.
