Dean S. Volk, 66, resident of Milford, beloved husband of Patricia Upton Volk entered peacefully into heaven on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. He was born to the late Kurt and Gertrude Volk, and raised in Stamford, CT. Dean graduated from St. Peter’s School in Peekskill, NY in 1964, and continued his education at Babson College, where he graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1968. Dean served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he was as a medic in Vietnam until 1972. He then settled down in Bethany, CT, where he raised his family.
Dean worked for many years at the family business, Kurt H. Volk, Inc., on the Post Road in Milford. In 2001, Dean moved to Milford, CT. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, dedicated work ethic and for putting others before himself. He also greatly enjoyed taking leisurely walks, reading and cooking. He will be greatly missed by all his beloved family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, he leaves behind four children, Dean Volk and wife, Laura, of Orange, CT, Phillip Volk and wife, Angela, of Hudson, NH, Wendy Chadbourne and husband, Paul, of Bethany, CT, and Katie Volk, and husband Matt, of Bethany, CT; three step children Shawn Upton and his wife Cynthia Langin of Woodbridge, CT, Michelle Upton of Milford, CT and Danielle Upton and her husband Aaron Jones of New Haven, CT; as well as 7 grandchildren, Amber, Sydney, Megan, Owen, Millie, Sadie, and Sebastian.
