Dean Francis Stanley, age 91, WWII Army veteran, former resident of Chicago, Oak Lawn, Gurnee, Third Lake and, most recently, Hayward, Wis., Passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 in Duluth, Minn. He was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Chicago to Dean and Margaret Stanley.

Beloved husband of the late Marilynn nee Milbourne Stanley, who passed away on Jan. 20, 2006; loving father of Stephen of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Charles of Ottawa, Ill., Dean of Chicago, Ill. and Mary Stanley of Hayward, Wis. Grandfather of six, great-grandfather of one. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of six, all deceased except his sister Ruby McCullough.

He grew up in Chicago, graduated from Parker High School and began his career with Illinois Bell Telephone, starting as a lineman and retiring as a supervising engineer. Served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II, stationed in the Panama Canal Zone where he married his high school sweetheart on April 21, 1944.
