Daniel Joseph Pramuka, 62, passed away at home Saturday, April 16, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Deirdre Taylor and beloved father of Chris Pramuka. Dan was born in Milford, August 11, 1948 to the late Daniel Pramuka, Sr. and Victoria Ladyko Pramuka. Dan lived in Milford all his life surrounded by his extended family. The first few years of his life he lived on his maternal grandparents’ farm until his father completed the new family home on Oronoque Rd. In 1966 Dan graduated from Milford High School and started his apprenticeship at the Milford Citizen. He completed his training at the New Haven Register and worked in numerous print shops in the area until his retirement from printing in 2005. Dan indulged his interest in photography by going on trips to many places with his friend Hy Diamond. Their trips included a climb

up Machu Picchu in Peru. Dan and his wife met in Hy Diamond’s camera store and were married in Milford on May 21, 1977. During the last decade, Dan combined his love of collecting with a small business, EastCoast Dan, selling antiques and collectables. Despite being a night owl, he would get up before dawn during flea market season to set up his collectables and antiques. Dan got involved in scouting when his son, Chris joined the Cub Scouts. At the time of his death he was a leader in Milford’s Troop 1.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Deirdre Taylor and their son Christopher of

Somerville, MA. and one aunt, Tillie Pramuka Seig of CA. Dan is also survived by  one nephew, Matthew Stash and his brother-in-law, Cliff Stash as well as numerous cousins, including two special cousins, June Beard of Milford and Jill Goodwin of East Rochester, NH. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Victoria and his sister, Kathleen Stash.
