Mr. Charles Vernon “Boe” Ingram, Sr., age 98, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday August 15th, 2017 at the EAMC Lanier Memorial Nursing Home in Valley, Alabama.
Mr. Ingram was born on July 5th, 1919 in Langdale, Alabama to the late Clarence W. Ingram and Estelle Morris Ingram. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ellen Ingram; sisters, Gladys Ingram and Mazel I. Sides; brother, Frank Ingram.
Mr. Ingram was a lifelong resident of the Langdale area and a long time employee at the Langdale Mill.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Navy. He loved his country and his family. His greatest passion in life was spending time with his family and taking care of them.
Mr. Ingram is survived by his children, Debby (Wayne) Smith, Lanett, Charles (Margelet) Ingram, North Carolina; grandchildren, Michelle I. (Brian) Schrader, Heather S. (Jamey) Presley, Jonathan W. (Morgan) Smith, Catherine I. (Chad) Wheeler, Trey Clem; great grandchildren, Julia Schrader, Emma Schrader, Adalynn Schrader, Brewer Smith, Banks Smith, Ingram Smith, Cameron Wheeler; sister, Jacquelyn Dollar, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Mr. Ingram had been a resident at the EAMC Lanier Memorial Nursing Home for the past three years. His family would like to extend a sincere and special thank you to the nursing home staff for their love, their kindness, and the compassion shown to Mr. Ingram.
