Charles Kimbrough Hill passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home in Seminole, Florida. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on October 25, 1932 to the late Robert Findley Hill and Lois Lee Hill. Also preceding him in death is a brother, Robert F. Hill, Jr. and a sister, Patricia Hill Wolfe. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Barnett Hill; two daughters, Stephanie Hill Andrews (Edward) and Nancy Hill Peterson (Robert); four grandchildren: Bailey J. Peterson, Indian Shores, Florida, Brett E. Andrews, Orlando, Florida, Charles C. Peterson (Katie), Tampa, Florida and Alexandra M. Andrews of Tampa, Florida. He graduated from The Citadel with a degree in Business and Finance and earned his nickname “Kiwi” playing football and various other sports. Following graduation he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force. Charles started his business, A B Dick Products Company of Tallahassee, Inc., later changed to Graphics Business Systems, Inc. in 1968. He was an active member of the business community until his retirement in 2015. Charlie loved FSU and was a avid Seminole football fan. He was a longtime Golden Chief, and a past president of the Seminole Boosters. He served many years as Chairman of the Bowl Entertainment Committee and was a member of the Circle of Gold. He was active in many community affairs and activities, as a member of Northside Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow and a past president. A longtime member of Springtime Tallahassee, he served as Krewe Chief of the American Territorial Krewe and also Andrew Jackson. He served on Board of the Florida National Bank, a member of the Town Club and was on the Founding Board of both the Governor’s Club and the University Club. He was a devoted Christian and at one time served on the Vestry of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
