Mr. Benjamin Jones passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
Benjamin Jones, nickname “Ben” or “Iron Man” was born to Alberta Stanford and Cornelius Jones on 15 October 1931 in Eufaula, Alabama. Ben moved to Florida in the early 1950’s, where he worked as a Phosphate plant laborer at Gardinier/Cargill Fertilizer. He retired from there after 34 years and remained in the Tampa area for a period of time before returning home to Eufaula where he spent his days playing pool and providing pool tips to the neighbors. In June 2016, Ben returned to Florida to be closer to family as his health begin to decline. He loved having cookouts at his house and seeing the generations of family have fun.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Benny Jones; sister, Lucy K. Jones; and brothers, Augustus Jones, and Robert Jones.
Ben leaves to cherish in his memory: his daughters, Barbara A. Davis, Cleo Billups, Bettye A. Christian, Bennie J. Pegram, Karen Jones, and Angela L. Holsinger of West Union, OH; sons, Joe N. Jones, Michael Jones (Linda), Sammy Jones, James Sellers, and Cornelius Sellers; sister, Violet M. Clemons of Cleveland, OH; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and many other loved ones.
