Arthur Brown Jr. was born in Atlanta, Ga. on
June 14, 1928 to his parents Arthur Brown Sr. and
Dora Brown. Arthur was the youngest of four siblings.
He was raised as a Baptist and later converted to
Islam as a young adult. Upon completing his high
school education at Washington High, Arthur went
on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army. During his
tour he received many honors, medals, and
commendations.
Once his duties in the military were filled, Arthur
resided back in Atlanta for a short while before
heading off to Detroit Michigan. There, he met his
wife Elnora Stephens Brown. They were married
in 1949 and remained married until her passing,
a total of 49 years. Arthur Brown fathered two
children, Michael Brown and Arthur Brown III.
He also adopted Alison Brown.
Arthur maintained a rewarding career with General
Motors and owned a thriving shoe repair store.
He was also an accomplished pilot. Arthur will always
be remembered by his family, friends, and loved ones.
He was a pillar in the Islamic community. Arthur was
brotherhood.
He is survived by 5 grandchildren
(Michael Brown II, Chelsia Brown, Michelle Brown Michela Brown & Nicholas Adams), 24
great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
