Amedio “Ham” W. Gallipoli, 82 of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the VA Hospital in West Haven. Born on September 9, 1928 in West Haven, he was the son of the late Arthur and Concetta Longo Gallipoli. He was the husband of Elizabeth Mary Caswell Gallipoli for 60 years.
Amedio proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a firefighter in Milford for twenty-five years. He was known for his love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fly-fishing, and was also an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife, Amedio is survived by his sons, David Gallipoli and his children, Zachary and Alexis; Wayne Gallipoli and his wife Sarah and their children, Daniel and Ava; his sisters, Josphine Nagele and Harriette Musco, both of Florida; and sister-in-law, Carol Lilley of Milford. He was predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Frank and Anthony Gallipoli, Mary Riley, Anna Rapuano and Fred Gallipoli.
